Received a note from Debra Tompkins-Cornett president of the cemetery committee: Stating the followings concerns: Mirror placed in front of the section II entrance placed on telephone pole, so people can look right and left to pull out.
Second concern is the potholes, would like if the driveway could be grated and filled with asphalt?
Eric Wilson stated that he might have a mirror that could be used, Jamie Roberts was going to investigate place the mirror on the pole with the electrical or phone company. Also going to look in the potholes.
Monthly reports of Supervisor, Bookkeeper and Town Clerk. Clerk is submitting checks totaling $ 1977.00 for fees collected during April 2021.
HIGHWAY– Highway Superintendent James Roberts: Sold the 91 Ford 9000 dump truck through JJ Auction services for $4,000. Insurance was removed. Had a drop on May 6th and May 7th had more tires than recent years, but all was good. Also talked with Sue McIntyre from Delaware County about a piece of property by the Sidney Center playground, there was once a PDW garage once located at this site, the county still has a small piece of property that they would like to transfer ownership to the Town of Sidney, so the town can maintenance, which as Jamie stated would not be a problem to place some stone or make a small parking lot. Motion to accept ownership of the small piece of property located on Center Street to the playground. Motion made by Mr. Selleck and seconded by Mr. Wilson and carried. AYES: Mr. Pigford, Mr. Cordes. Town Attorney Joe Ermetti will get in touch with the country regarding transferring ownership.
SUPERVISOR– Gene Pigford at the county board meeting the county has drafted a new local law proposal. Local law intro. No. 16.” Local authorizing 12 and 13 old, licensed hunters to hunt deer with firearm or crossbow during hunting season with the supervision of an adult licensed hunter”. An open hearing is scheduled for May 26, 2021 at 12:45 p.m.
Has coming to our attention from Joe Singlar that works with the Preservation of the O & W and there is shed located at 4 Maple Ave, which in the day it was used as Telegraph shanty by the
O & W and they would like to preserve and the Delaware County PDW are willing to move the shed to a new location at no cost.
BOOKKEEPER– Karen Kropp
TOWN CLERK– Sheila Paul Book taxes are closed for 2021 and collected 86%. All unpaid taxes went back to the Treasurer’s office in Delhi.
Highway-Selleck & Cordes: Rd 13 is to be paved starting on May 24th. Waiting to hear from the Union with their list and will start negotiations.
Hospital- Wilson & Pigford: The rapid COVID testing that is in the hospital is slowing down but wants to rent space in the hospital. Gene has inquired about when will the excise class begin in the hospital, Gene is going to reach out to Pete Burghardt about the protocols for the hospital.
Insurance-Cordes: Bill VanGorder from NYMIR and Eric Wilson met for a meeting regarding insurance cost. Bill is going to send more detail and grouping items together. Gene made a statement that we will need to discuss in the future if we are going to go out to bid, as he has had some other insurance company inquired.
Zoning & Planning– Pigford & Selleck –Waiting for the SEQR from the country and made adjustment in line with recommendations. Per Gene Pigford that he has spoken with Shelly Johnson for Delaware County and she indicate that the abstracts would be completed and forward to us by end of next week. Will keep everyone posted.
East Sidney Lake– Cordes & Wilson: Per John Nolan’s- Lake is opened and almost completely full for the seasonal campers. Electric project in the pines is complete. Electric has been placed on the tent sites. Have 6 more RV sites. Have 2- 400-amp services installed. New office /shed is in place, insulated and sheet rocked, and going to place freezer and refrigerator for snack. Beach is not open, has left message for the State regarding the beach. Price was increased to 1100.00 for seasonal campers. Has a wait list for seasonal campers. Next step to upgrade the playground next year. This year and the next few weekends working on the basketball court. Frank Selleck made a comment about what is going on with KOA campground about adding more campsites. Having phone problems so having fiber-optic phone lines being installed.
Finance-Pigford: In budget on all accounts.
IT-Wilson & Pigford: The webpage was placed is maintenance mode as it had issue with a virus. Situation has been corrected and all is good.
DCO liaison– Pigford: Couple of runaways and couple of pickups.
Transition-Selleck and Pigford: The generator hooked up and running. Grant is still alive and has been passed on to the committee.
Resolution for Town Clerk to preform Marriages. Mr. Wilson made motion to accept resolution and seconded by Mr. Selleck and carried. AYES: G. Pigford, P. Cordes. NAYES: none

Bea Bishop on Zoom comments: Interested in working on the new website. 2 Question regarding zoning draft, about a shed and junk yard. Would like to have someone to call regarding these questions.
