August 9, 2023The Regular meeting of the Sidney Town Board was called to order by the Frank Selleck Deputy Town Supervisor at 7:00 p.m. May 11, 2023, in the boardroom at 44 Grand Street, Sidney. Prior to the meeting, bills were audited by the Board.

HIGHWAY– Highway Superintendent Codey Lambrecht: Mr. Lambrecht asked for a Motion to hire Adam Stanton as a Town Crew employee. Mr. Selleck made a motion to approve the hiring of Adam Stanton and seconded by Muratore and carried. AYES: B. Health, B. Hunt. NAYES: None
The Town crew have been busy repairing culverts, cleaning ditches and removing trees. But the main focus is the preparing to pave Back River Rd. Mr. Lambrecht has been taking bids for the paving and this time Suit-Kote has the lowest bid.
SUPERVISOR– Eric Wilson: Nothing to report.
BOOKKEEPER– Karen Kropp: Nothing to report.
TOWN CLERK– Sheila Paul: Attended Regional Meeting through New York State Town Clerks Association. in April 2023 and was appointed to Director of Direct 3.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Highway-Selleck & Wilson: Mr. Selleck
Hospital– Hunt/ Wilson: Mr. Hunt stated that he is trying to generate interest in using the lower floor of the hospital for executive office. He also stated that Mr. Wilson had been working on finding tenants for the upper floor.
Insurance–Heath / Hunt:
Zoning & Planning– Muratore/ Selleck The Zoning and Planning committees has finalized the Common Plan of Development for overlay zones, which will be presented to the Sidney Planning Board on May 15th. If the Planning Board is in favor of the plan, a public hearing will be scheduled.
East Sidney Lake– Heath/ Selleck Mr. Nolan the Manager of the Lake. The park is open, and by Memorial Day weekend the camp sites should be completely full.
Many updates have taken place: Highway department paved the boat ramp, had 19 Union carpenters volunteer their time to jack up the roof on the pavilion and remove dead trees. Mr. Nolan is hoping to put a new playground in the park this summer, Mr. Selleck has been working on this for years and hoping it will happen this year. The cost to a basic playground is 10,000 to 15,000.
Mr. Muratore was instrumental in getting Wi-Fi installed at the park and East Sidney Lake. East Sidney Lake was featured in Delhi Telephone Company’s Community Spotlight. Community Spotlight features small businesses in the community each month.
Finance-Muratore/ Wilson: Nothing to report.
IT– Hunt/ Muratore: Mr. Muratore discussed the possibility of getting cell phones for Board Members and other Town employees for Town business. Mr. Muratore will look into and get prices of a cell phone plan for the Town.
DCO liaison– Heath: Mr. Heath will be getting in touch with Amy Cross, the dog control office, regarding reports and the cost of training.
At 7:38 p. m. Mr. Selleck motion for an Executive Session to discuss personnel and seconded by Mr. Heath and carried. AYES: B. Hunt, P. Muratore. NAYES: None
